From Heritage to Global Trust
Securing the Future of Global Sustainability Through Indonesia
The next fifty years will test humanity’s resilience against disease, food insecurity, and resource depletion. The solutions cannot come from one nation alone—but some nations hold disproportionate leverage. Indonesia is one of them.
Pijar Global Trust (PGT) is a private, independent institution convening global leaders, businesses, scientists, and philanthropists to transform Indonesia’s strategic potential into global resilience.

Indonesia is a decisive lever for these challenges.

It is home to 286 million people, making it the fourth most populous nation—a demographic whose health directly impacts global disease transmission and workforce productivity.

It is the fourth largest rice producer in the world, with production projected at 35.6 million tons in 2025–26—a scale that positions Indonesia as a potential buffer for global food insecurity.

It holds vast reserves of nickel and critical minerals, indispensable for the world’s clean energy transition.

Its economy, growing at 5.2–5.4% in 2026, is one of the most resilient among emerging markets, but vulnerable if health, food, and energy risks are left unmanaged.
PGT exists to connect global actors to these leverage points. We offer continuity, independence, and trust—ensuring that international partners can engage Indonesia with credibility and long-term stability beyond government cycles.
Our Positioning is Distinct:

Private-led, Publicly Relevant
Free from the limitations of short-term political agendas, yet able to engage and influence key national stakeholders.
Global-Standard Governance
Structured to meet the expectations of international funders, philanthropies, and multilateral institutions.
Deep National Roots
Harnessing Indonesia’s traditions of solidarity, such as zakat and community-led initiatives, to channel resources toward innovation and impact.
Our Partners

Program
PGT designs programs that translate Indonesia’s opportunities into scalable global solutions. Our work focuses on three interconnected streams:

Global Health Security
Challenge: With health expenditures reaching US$375 billion in 2023, Indonesia’s system is vast yet fragile. Out-of-pocket payments remain at 28.6%, signaling vulnerability. As COVID-19 showed, disease spread in one hub can quickly cascade worldwide.
Our Work: PGT convenes funders, innovators, and public institutions to accelerate vaccine R&D, strengthen pandemic preparedness, and reduce preventable disease burdens in Indonesia—protecting both local communities and global health security.

Energy & Resource Transition
Challenge: The world’s energy future depends on critical minerals. Indonesia is the largest nickel producer globally, a cornerstone for electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy systems. But unmitigated extraction risks environmental collapse.
Our Work: PGT drives sustainable investment and innovation partnerships that ensure Indonesia’s mineral wealth supports the global clean energy transition responsibly—without repeating the mistakes of past resource exploitation.

Food Systems & Global Supply
Challenge: By 2050, food demand will increase by 60% globally. Indonesia, with 14.8 million tons of rice stocks by May 2025, has the potential to become a stabilizer in global food supply chains. But climate risk and inefficiencies threaten reliability.
Our Work: PGT fosters innovation in agriculture, resilience in supply chains, and regional food cooperation—ensuring Indonesia not only feeds its people but contributes to feeding the world.
